Linda Glover Gooch
Linda Glover Gooch was born and raised in Southern California, and her early artistic influences started with her parents and her grandmother who were amateur artist. Painting since her early teens, Linda painted the Coastal scenes of California and embraced the outdoors from earliest childhood. In her late 20s, she met her husband, Joe, and they decided to move to Santa Fe, NM where she was introduced to Plein air painting. Though Plein air painting is a small part of her journey, it has been an invaluable teacher. Now 30 years later, painting the Southwest is still her passion with the majestic Canyons across the west to the tranquility and intimate quietness of the forest. “Typically, I paint best when I know a place well,” she says. “I feel at home in the canyons and I love it in the fall when it rains aspen leaves onto your palette.” Spending time on site painting is the tool that helps Linda know her subject well. Linda now lives in Mesa, Arizona.

Linda continues to share her enthusiasm by teaching at the Scottsdale Artists’ School in Scottsdale, Arizona. Honored with numerous awards and recognitions, Linda’s paintings have been featured in Museums and exhibitions including Cowgirl Up!, the Desert Caballeros Western Museum in Wickenburg, Arizona, Prevailing Winds, the Booth Museum of Western Art, Cartersville Georgia, the Celebration of Art at the Grand Canyon in Arizona and In the Foot Steps of Thomas Moran Plein Air Invitational Zion National Park, Utah.

Her work is featured in the publication of Art of the National Parks, Historic Connections, Contemporary Interpretations, a showcase of America’s finest artists who paint from within the country’s National Parks and also Art of the West and Southwest Art magazines.

Linda is a Signature Member of Oil Painters of America, Master Signature Member of American Women Artists. She is represented by Lee Youngman Galleries in Calistoga, California; The Illume Gallery of Fine Art, Salt Lake City, Utah; Mary Williams Fine Art, Boulder Colorado.
