About the Exhibit
On exhibit will be works from the Montana Painters Alliance. The Montana Painters Alliance is a membership organization which was established by and for Montana artists to encourage and foster excellence among Montana’s professional painters in plein air, studio and landscape painting. The members gather twice a year to paint en plein air in locations as distinct and diverse as the valley of the Big Hole and the streets of Butte. Membership currently consists of 28 of some of Montana's most accomplished and esteemed artists from every corner of this wide, wonderful state. The MPA is in its eleventh year of existence. Members will present premier works which most clearly exemplify each artists’ individual style and approach to painting. Media represented will include oil, watercolor, pastel and mixed media. Though the common thread of the MPA is a love of, and use of the plein air painting in their individual endeavors, subjects range from western, to wildlife, architectural, American Indian and pure landscape. Approaches and styles are as varied as the members.
