Jill Carver
Charlie Fritz's paintings depict the landscapes and history of the West. He's known for his dedication to historical accuracy, and his paintings have been included in museum exhibits across the country. He resides near Billings, Montana, in the valley of the Yellowstone River.

His collection, “An Artist with the Corps of Discovery ~ 100 Paintings Illustrating the Journals of Lewis and Clark” has toured to 12 museums from Oregon to Georgia, and has been seen by over 500,000 visitors. The collection is currently at the Natural History Museum of the Ozarks in Springfield, Missouri. An accompanying book, authored by Charlie, won the Benjamin Franklin Silver Medal Award for history in 2010.

In 2013, Charlie was honored with the Lewis and Clark Trail Heritage Foundation’s, Distinguished Service Award, “for his outstanding contribution toward furthering the purpose and objectives of the Foundation.”

His paintings are held in the permanent collections of the Denver Art Museum, the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, the C.M. Russell Museum, the MacNider Museum and the Rahr-West Museum. In New York, he won the Salmagundi Club's award for landscape and he is listed in Who's Who in the American West and Who's Who in American Art. He has received the C.M. Russell Museum's Best of Show five times, and for 25 years he has been included in the prestigious Prix de West Exhibit at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City.

His work has been featured in many books and periodicals and was included in Donald Hagerty’s book, “Leading the West - 100 Contemporary Artists.”
