Fred Cameron was born and, still lives, in a rural area of British Columbia's Fraser Valley. He resides on a small acreage with his wife and dogs.
His portfolio of work reflects his love of nature and the mountains. He has traveled and painted throughout the Rockies, from Alaska to Montana, in a motorhome.
“My inspiration has always been from my experience in the outdoors,” Fred says. “Seeing a beautiful sunset, a magnificent bull moose in the marsh or a frosty fall morning in the Rockies, listening to a bull elk bugle. These are the reasons I paint, to portray these wonders of nature.”
Fred’s work includes landscapes, wildlife and anything that reflects his love of plein air painting.
“To return to the studio and start a large painting from my travels,” he says, “is what continues to drive my love of painting.”
His impressionistic oil paintings and sculpture are appreciated the world over and hang in collections throughout Canada, United States, England, Australia and China.
Fred's major influences have been Carl Runguis, Wm Reese and Ned Jacob.
