About the Exhibit
In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Wilderness Act, the exhibition will feature art created from the experiences of thirty-one artists that have participated in the Artist-Wilderness-Connection program over the last ten years. The program is a collaborative project between the Hockaday, Flathead National Forest, the Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation and Swan Ecosystem Center and connects artists with wilderness settings in the Great Bear and Bob Marshall Wilderness Areas. The program consists of a residency and community presentation. This exhibit offers a unique opportunity to view wilderness through the eyes of a diverse and talented group of Montana artists.

Randy Beacham
“Discovering Wilderness through the Lens”
Randy’s slide presentation will reflect on how his photographic style has evolved from ‘capturing’ to ‘discovering’ images. He will share how he used this concept to discover what was unique and special about the wilderness surrounding Silvertip Cabin where he spent his 12-day residency.
Barbara Rusmore
“On the Divide”
Barbara will present a view from on top of the Great Bear Wilderness as she experienced and painted it, and drew deeper into the wilderness.
