Losing a Legacy: A Photographic Story of Disappearing Glaciers
May 19 – September 22, 2009
|This stirring exhibition blends the science of climate change research with the aesthetic of landscape photography from Glacier National Park. Dan Fagre, Research Ecologist for the USGS, and his team have spent years and impressive effort determining precise locations and reproducing the exact perspective of photographs taken by renowned early Glacier pioneers. The side-by-side photographic comparisons reveal the inescapable truth of the state of the park’s namesakes.
This Exhibition is sponsored by the Glacier Fund, U.S. Geological Survey, BNSF Railway, and the Hockaday Museum of Art.
