Voices of the Wild West
Children's Art Show
April 1 - April 30, 2011
The Hockaday Museum of Art is rounding up student art that highlights this year’s exhibition theme of “Voices of the Wild West”. Those voices can be visions of today or people and places from long ago. Perhaps the viewer will imagine the sounds of what they see… a bird singing, a bugling elk, the hoof beats of galloping horses, water cascading over rocks, or people in conversation. Remember, this is a “fine arts” exhibition, not a poster contest. Pieces selected for display will be determined by quality of work and available gallery space.
This exhibition of 2 and 3-dimensional artwork is open to children in kindergarten through eighth grade who are students of Museum Member Schools, Hockaday Art Classes, and children included in Family Level Museum Memberships. Artwork must relate to the theme “Voices of the Wild West” and have been created during the current school year (September 2010 - March 2011).

Selected works from 2010 Children's Show "Celebrating Glacier".
